Tucson Arizona Steakhouses

Tucson Arizona Steakhouses are well known in the Western part of the United States for thier incredible steaks and mesquite taste.
We personally have visited nearly all of them at some time or other.
El Corral Steakhouse has been Tucson tradition for many years. Last night our family went there for Dinner, and many people dine there while in town for the La Fiesta de los Vaqueros.
Steakhouses are a Tucson tradition as well as cooking over an open fire,  and  I felt that a post about the many Western restaurants that are dotted all over Tucson would be a good thing for those of you that are locals, or those of you that are visiting or relocating to the Tucson area.
Being in the Old West, many of us like to dress up or down in our cowboots, and hats
You may still want to go Country and Western Dancing a the Maverick or at the Cactus Moon after Dinner!
We have gathered a list of Restaurants that have a Western Theme, where you can feel like a cowboy, take in the Tucson History, or feel like you are in  an old Clint Eastwood Western movie.

PINNACLE PEAK STEAK HOUSE 6541 E. Tanque Verde Road, 296-0911
The only restaurant where you cannot wear a tie in Tucson without fear of it being cut off!
Pinnacle Peak has a large Western-style interior  with and old bar. It is located in Trail dust town where nightly Western Shows are carried out by the Dragoon Street Players and  is well worth the visit.

DAISY MAE’S STEAKHOUSE 2735 W. Anklam Road, 792-8888
Their  Signature Ribeye Steak  is one of the best items on the menu and well worth ordering.

EL CORRAL 2201 E. River Road, 520-299-6092
Great Tucson setting in a territorial ranch house. The restaurant opened 1939 as El Corral Café. An earlier restaurant operated nearby in 1926.
The front room has Saguaro ribbed ceilings, and the restaurant has old western memorabilia.

CHAD’S STEAKHOUSE & SALOON 3001 N. Swan Road, 881-1802
In my opinion the best Prime Rib in town.

OK CORRAL 7710 E. Wrightstown, 885-2373
This Old West Steakhouse has been open since 1968, and  has a huge mesquite wood-fired grill.

SILVER SADDLE STEAK HOUSE 314 E. Benson Highway, 622-6253
Adjacent to the freeway, it serves the best priced steak in Tucson.

TUCSON McGRAW’S CANTINA 4110 S. Houghton Road, 885-3088
Nice atmosphere and sits high on a ridge. They offer 11 burgers and have a Tuesday Night Steak Special.

Great steaks and burgers and the ribs are good.

HIFALUTIN RAPID FIRE WESTERN GRILL 6780 N. Oracle Road, 297-0518
A higher end Steakhouse with good atmosphere. Great steak and also home made style pot roast and meatloaf.

LI’L ABNER’S STEAK HOUSE 8501 N. Silverbell Road, 744-2800
The restaurant was established in 1947 and was Tucson’s first outdoor barbecue pit steak cookery. Part of the  building was part of the Butterfield Overland stage line. Live Country music on Friday and Saturday. Friday night the same band that was Gene Autry’s back up band has played for over 40 years. Very entertaining.

LARIAT STEAKHOUSE 16666 N. Oracle Road, 825-9907
The structure was built in 1948 in the Lariat Estates development. As the Lariat Lounge in the 1980s, it attracted such national country music acts as Mel Tillis, John Anderson and Moe Bandy. It has live music Friday and Saturday nights too, and by the way great food.

McCLINTOCK’S 3755 W. Conrads Way (Marana), 579-2100
New restaurant that opened in August in the  new Development  and  "luxury guest ranch" Saguaro Ranch, it has an adjacent "general store" motif. Great food and atmosphere. incredible views of the Catalinas and the city lights from the porch.

Tucson Real Estate market off to a good start in 2008

Tucson Real Estate market in Southern Arizona January news has just been released by the Tucson Association of Realtors,  and  it marks an interesting year ahead in 2008!

Although statistics show that both home sales volume and unit sales numbers were below  January of 2007, the Average

Sales Price for a home in Tucson  only decreased 2.17% from $272,351 in January ’07 to $266,450 in January ’08, and pending contracts increased to 1,079 in January ’08, an increase of 25.03% over the January ’07 count of 863.  We are seeing a pick up in the market when comparing this time last year. We are also seeing a reduction in Active Listings, from 9,742 this time in 2007 to 9,168 in 2008.

The Tucson real estate market is generally slower at the beginning of January and then picks up at the end of January and into February, as many Events draw people to Tucson including the Gem Show, The Tucson Rodeo, and The Acccenture Golf Tournament.

Tucson real estate can look forward to continuing growth as it still has affordable housing, great weather, combined with  national low interest rates.

Long-term mortgage interest rates went down again on Tuesday, with the 10-year Treasury bond yield falling to 3.57 percent.

The 30-year fixed-rate home loan rate average went down  to 5.47 percent, and the 15-year fixed rate also took a turning down to 4.95 percent. The 1-year adjustable rate, however, went up to 5.07 percent.

The 30-year Treasury bond yield was down at 4.33 percent

There is not a better time to buy a Tucson home for sale in the current market with such great interest rates, and with a great selection of Tucson new homes and resale Tucson Homes available for sale in all price ranges. Some builders are even offering 4.8% interest on a new inventory built home with added buyer incentives off the price of the home.

The amount of inventory in the market has decreased over the last 6 months according to the Tucson Association of Realtors monthly statistical reports.

The mortgage rate figures come from www.bank rate.com and Inman News, which  both publish daily information on Banking surveys in 50 States. Points on these rates vary from 0 to 3.5. Tucson Buyers and  investors wishing to take advantage of this great time to buy and hold Tucson Real Estate should be happy with the recent drop in interest rates. Tucson Gated Homes – many communities are available in all price ranges.

Tucson Gated Homes – many Communities are available in all price ranges in and around Tucson, Oro Valley, Marana, and Vail.

gated community.jpg

Gated Community of Butterfly Mountain near Tucson Arizona.

Tucson has an abundance of Gated Communities and homes, mainly due to the fact that we have many home owners that are not full time residents.

Some Tucson homes are Gated Golf Communities such as La Paloma, Ventana Canyon, Skyline Country Club, and Stone Canyon. and offer Luxury Gated Estates

Other Tucson Gated Communities do not have Golf Courses, but offer the added security of a Gated Community include Communities such as Pima Canyon, Finisterra, The Canyons, La Reserve, Canyon Pass and more.

Other Gated Communities such as Sky Ranch, Coyote Ridge, Coyote Creek, offer a Gate but no Guard.

There is a definite question that one should ask when looking at a Gated Community. and homes within a Tucson Gated Community.

Do you want a Guard on Duty, or is the actual Gate alone  sufficient for you in  your choice of a Tucson Gated Home?

Many Tucson Gated Communities that have a Guard Gate have higher Association dues especially if the Community is not a large one.

The Gate also deters those that wish to cruise around a neighborhood and maintains the privacy of its residents. Homes styles vary within Tucson Gated Communities from Southwest Contemporary homes, to Adobe Territorial Masterpieces from small lots to those over 4 acres, from small retirement homes to Luxury Gated Estates.

There are also Gated Retirement Communities such as Heritage Highlands, and Quail Creek with a Guard on Duty 24/7 for those looking for Retirement and Recreational Facilities.
