Sam Hughes is a Historic neighborhood adjacent to the University of Arizona on its East side. The homes are mostly older from the 1920 and newer, and there are guidelines for Homeowners to get a Historic Tax break on their property.

As the University of Arizona expands over the next few years, historic neighborhoods such as Sam Hughes, Blenman Elm and others should benefit from the inability of the University to expand its perimeters.

There is a consensus that it will also cause a shortage of housing, especially as the minidorm projects have been denied within these neighborhoods. The cost of rent housing in the area is considerably higher than Arizona State University housing. Many of the homes in the neighborhood are have only two bedrooms…….not a great factor for student housing. three bedroom homes are not the norm, so this listing is a gem within a very desirable and convenient neighborhood.
