Catalina Foothills Estates Homes

Catalina Foothills Estates an older Tucson Neighborhood with  Classic Tucson Homes

There are many styles of homes that you can find when looking for a new home in the Foothills.

Many people wanting the classic Tucson Territorial Home  will look in established neighorhoods such as Catalina Foothills Estates.

There are many subdivisions included in this broad term, some are in the Catalina Foothills School District, others are in TUSD.

However, if you preference is for an old adobe brick home, then this is definitiely the area to be in the Catalina Foothills.

Many of the old  Joesler homes were built in this area in the 1920's to 1950's and ooze character.

One of our friends actually has a Joesler home,  and has hand signed doors by De Grazia gracing their kitchen! This is a tuff remodeling project!

One thing that is noticeable about old abobe homes, is there inherent ability to keep cool and warm. Many of them also have wood beamed ceilings in their living rooms, bedrooms and kitchens. The inside brick walls are not usually plastered , but either  the inside brick is naturally exposed or painted.

If you look at the housing statistics in these Catalina Foothills neighborhoods, the change in our national housing market has had very little effect on the housing value.

For example, there have been very few listings on the market in Estates Six over the last few years, and therefore very few sales.

Here is a listing that is currently on the market for $949,000 that has a classic design and guest quarters in Catalina Foothills Estates Six.

Many of these classi homes have mature desert landscaping and are tucked away from view. The  Classic Catalina Foothills Estates were situated on 10 to 15 acres of more, but have now been reduced to smaller lots with the onset of development in the area.

Many people are resisting more change, as the area has outstanding natural desert beauty.
