SAHBA, the Southern Arizona Home Builder’s Association, New Homes Parade will take place in the Dove Mountain area between the 2nd of February and the 17th of February in the new subdivision called sonoranpreserveaz.com/

It is the first time in 20 years that the event has taken place, and will feature seven new luxury homes that are priced over  a million dollars. The custom new homes are designed to show the latest architectural home styles, appliances, kitchen and bathroom design, the latest electronic gadgets, plus lavish indoor and outdoors luxury living ideas and spaces available today in the new home and luxury home market. Some of the new homes will also feature green building techniques, and colored concrete, recycled material carpets, solar efficiency panels and techniques that show water conservation will also be on display with the homes.
 

One of the homes has a putting green on the roof! I am sure this is meant for those golfers that are awaiting the Accenture Match Play Golf Tournament in Marana in a few weeks! For the techies, there are voice operated heating and cooling systems, and sliding glass walls.

The Tucson Custom Builders involved are are Bauer Homes, Casas Bonitas Development, Becklin Construction, Lathrem Homebuilders, JD Raney Construction, Washburn Custom Builders and Canatsey Building & Development. They have to meet the strict requirements set forth by SAHBA  to participate including  complying with building standards, with the SAHBA Code of Ethics, have at least 3 years of continuous building experience in the area, and  have no unanswered or unresolved complaints either with SAHBA or the Registrar of Contractors in Arizona.
 

Every custom home will carry  the Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star certification, as part of a partnership with Southwest Gas. There will also be manufacturers and suppliers present to answer questions and demonstrate the products involved in the new home construction.

The  SAHBA Parade of custom homes will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day of the event.  The Tickets can be purchased at the site for $12 each with a discount of $2 for  seniors 50 and older. Children 12 and younger are free.

There are some special promotions to be offered is if you are planning a trip to the Parade of Homes Event. It you are Military, you might go on February 11th as tickets will be half price for military personnel, and the 13th  of February the tickets are two for one.
