Tucson Arizona Events for January include the Thunder in the  Desert which is currently being held in January  at the Rillito Raceway until the 6th of January 2008

For those that are looking for a unique event, over 187 Native American tribes come together for a Pow Vow that also includes dancing, music, equestrian events, midnight friendship dance, birds of prey, and exhibitions. The event is only held every four years in Tucson Arizona.

Thunder in the Desert Event is meant to celebrate the 10,000 years that the Native American Tribes have maintained their culture, and to showcase their strengths, beauty and spirituality.
